About the event
It is not often that a “world first” facility is located in our home area . The Surrey Biofuel Facility, built in 2017, the Surrey Biofuel facility was the first fully integrated closed-loop organic waste facility in North America. It processes up to 115,000 tonnes of organic waste annually into renewable natural gas and high-quality compost, thereby diverting annually over 110,000 tonnes of domestic and industrial organic waste from landfill.
You are invited to join a guided tour of the Facility on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 10 am meeting up in the on-site boardroom. The tour will include a walk of the Facility and conclude with lunch in the nearby Baron’s Manor Pub, finishing by 2 pm. There is ample parking on site.
